Storage Tips

Moving? Storing Seasonal Items? Business & Office Storage? Small Equipment? Are Your Boxes & Totes Piling Up? Or Are You Just Running Out of Space? Whatever Your Reason, Self-Store With Us! Here are some tips to help you have the best storage experience possible.

Keep items you will need most often at the front of your unit with a center aisle to access.

Remove the legs from tables and other furniture, and store tabletops and sofas on end in order to save space.

To keep old photographs from curling, tape two pieces of cardboard together and place your photos in between.

Drain fuel and oil from lawn mowers and other items with small engines.

You can control your storage space alone, but common sense and state laws determine what may be stored. Therefore, please never store live animals, perishables, liquids, explosives, flammable liquids, fuels, or toxic materials.

Use a trash can or bin to store shovels, rakes and other yard tools.

Cover mattresses and store them flat on a level surface.

Treat wood surfaces and use protective covers.

Wipe all metal surfaces with a rag containing a few drops of machine oil to eliminate rust.

Store blankets, draperies, and dress clothes on the hanger and in a wardrobe box.

Always use high quality locks on your unit. Locks are available for sale-just ask your site manager for a recommendation.
